A Few Years Later…
Well it has been a heck of a ride so far! People have come and gone but the central tenet of our business not only stands fast, it is a key reason for our repeat business (Huge thank you to our many regulars! xxx).
We only engage tattooists who have a passion for art and who draw, paint and design in their own time and in a range of different media. Tattooing as an art form is too important to be taken lightly.
If you’re after an outstanding customer experience, come in and check out the studio and the artists. You will not be disappointed with the attention to service, as well as the quality of the outputs our artists are capable of.
IN THE BEGINNING…the first introduction:
I know it’s wrong to judge a book by its cover but when it came to imprinting an indelible mark on my skin, I needed to feel comfortable walking into an environment where that could be done.
In my experience, the majority of tattoo studios I approached failed to meet any of my expectations. They’re more often than not dark places, with so much art/flash on the walls it can be really overwhelming, and oftentimes downright intimidating for a beginner.
Now I know for a fact that just because someone is covered head to toe in ink and piercings, it does not make them an angry , hostile or bad person. Many are incredibly lovely. Unfortunately, it’s not the lovely ones who seem to be manning the counters in the studios I’ve visited, which is why I have felt disinclined to get as many tattoos as I would like.
Talking with family, friends, work colleagues and even strangers, revealed that there are loads of people out there with a similar mindset. There are an awful lot of tattoo “virgins” who are put off by what the stereotypical studio offers in the way of shop presentation, not to mention customer service and satisfaction.
What Kakapo Ink is striving to bring to the industry is an environment that is calm, friendly and welcoming. Our artists will patiently work through your design ideas with you and provide the input needed to deliver a quality tattoo that you will be proud of for years to come. Our artists are provided with the best equipment and facilities necessary for them to achieve the best possible result for you.
We want to engage those good people who have been too intimidated by traditional studios to even walk in. We want to deliver an experience that is so pleasant, you’ll be wanting to lock in your next appointment and you’ll want to share with your friends and family.
We’re looking to those who’ve never been tattooed before, and those who want a piece to mark a special occasion such as graduating from university, as a charm to collect on your world travels, or to celebrate the birth of a new family member, or to mark an anniversary etc. Your ethnicity, age (I’m referring to the very mature end of the spectrum here. No tattoos will be done for anyone under 18 under any circumstances) or gender will not be used as judgments against you because there is no typical customer type in this business as far as we are concerned.
Our name derives from a New Zealand native bird, the Kakapo, which is flightless but is also the world’s heaviest and longest lived parrot. The species is dangerously close to extinction and it is our intention to contribute to the conservation effort through our efforts here at Kakapo Ink. Keep checking the site for updates regarding this effort.
We aim to strike a balanced approach between incredible custom ink and art, as well as amazing experiences for our clients and artists alike.
Thanks for checking out our website.
